The Comtrol Dual Tone Multi Frequency (DTMF) Transmitter is used in conjunction with Comtrol’s DTMF visual receiver or Comtrol’s DTMF LoudMouth. This unit was designed to alert personnel, working in high noise locations, of a paging call directed to them. Models are available to extend the LoudMouth line, start other equipment, apply AC power to telephone couplers, or many other control/alert functions.

The visual alarm system is compatible with any standard mine paging system and operates from its own independent power source. The transmitter can be used to call any unit, "Group Call" up to 10 units, or "All Call" every unit. The unit requires a DC paging voltage to energize. This feature extends battery life. The encoder/decoder can be two of seven (E7) or two of eight (E8). The standard is (E7).
